Tuesday, October 23 - Monday October 29: I'll try and reconstruct a day-by-day
at some later point but basically I did a number of things while in NYC area:
- Tried to volunteer at ground zero, but they weren't taking any more volunteers.
- Tried to see a friend's band Volta do Mar (who have an excellent new full-length
out called Travelling at the Speed of Light or Time" which you can preview
at www.pitchforkmedia.com) at a lesbian bar called "Meow Mix" but
not enough people showed up, so they weren't allowed to play, but then they
were, but then they just didn't. so we went to a club that was spinning soe
mad dub.
- Went to an art museum called PS1.
- Went to several shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) theater.
- Saw Mullholland Drive with old Kalamazoo College friends.
- Rode my bike around Manhattan for a while.
- Gave a lot of people computer goodies.
- spent the second half of my week with some other friends, Rob Buscemi and
wife, Sarah Hadley. Wonderful folk, God bless.
There's more, but basically, I don't feel like breaking it all down. New York
was a smear and a blur with great spots and more flats than I care to think
about, but ultimately, this is just an overview.
